The dimensions of the sermon

שו"תThe dimensions of the sermon
שאל לפני 5 שנים

Hello Dr. Michi
What measurements did we receive at Sinai?
Were these the 13 of Rabbi Yishmael or the 7 of Hillel, perhaps the 32 of Rabbi Eliezer ben Rabbi Yossi of Galilee? (At least the halakhic ones) and what about the other dozens that appear in the Talmud?
Why is there a disagreement in the dimensions themselves between the conditions, such as individual and general versus plurality and minority?
I saw that you once wrote that the virtues were given as language and underwent conceptualization, but I didn't understand what that meant??? How did Moses learn these virtues at Sinai (and which ones?) How is it that such a fundamental and essential matter in the very essence of Orthodox halachic belief is so fragmented, vague, and unclear???
thanks

Indeed, I explained in the second book of Talmudic Logic that the maxims were given as a natural language (the language of the sermon), when God taught Moses at Sinai how to read the verses in plain language and the sermon. But He did not give him a list of maxims, but simply read the verses with him through the "spectacles" of the sermon, like someone who speaks a language without knowing its rules (a native speaker). After a while, they began to forget this language, and developed systems of rules that recreate the use of the language, like a system of rules of grammar. Therefore, with each generation, there are more and more rules, because they are an increasingly detailed development and conceptualization of the language of the sermon. For more details, see my book there. I have shown this in great detail regarding general and particular measures.
