To 'celebrate' for two days
Hello, and have a good week!
I wanted to know: As a person who lives abroad and finds it difficult to celebrate the Seder for two days, is it possible to practically and theoretically cancel the 'celebration' of the second day?
And if not – why? Because of the stability of the halakhah or are there 'hidden reasons' (for that matter?)?
Thank you!

I am not inclined to accept the ulterior motives thesis. It is a baseless and illogical statement that defends a conservative position in an irrefutable way that neutralizes common sense and considerations of explanation.
And yet, in order to change a regulation, even if its rationale is invalid, a court of law is required (something that one minyan requires another minyan to permit). This is probably what you called 'the stability of the halakhah'.
On a principled level, I'm completely in favor. A second term is a pointless and illogical law in our day, and I won't justify the forces of unemployment. But it's hard to do that without a minimum consensus.
