To introduce oneself into rape and thus avoid fulfilling a commandment

שו"תTo introduce oneself into rape and thus avoid fulfilling a commandment
שאל לפני 9 שנים

Hello Rabbi, a question that I am currently dealing with and I am interested in hearing the Rabbi's opinion is whether it is permissible for a person to force himself into a situation that will prevent him from performing a mitzvah, i.e. whether it is permissible for a person to stay at an event until very late knowing that the next morning he will not be able to get up for prayer. Let us just clarify that it is certainly inappropriate and vile under the authority of the Torah, etc. The question is whether it is forbidden or just vile under the authority of the Torah.

If one does so in advance intentionally in order to avoid the mitzvah or to transgress the prohibition, one must rely on the Rishonim's dispute regarding one who introduces himself into rape (see, for example, here ). But if he remains because he has a direct interest in it and the rape results, then according to the law it is rape.
