Two from the Bible and one from the translation

שו"תTwo from the Bible and one from the translation
שאל לפני 8 שנים

Hello Rabbi!
Is there a clear obligation to read two books of the Bible and one translation? I can't seem to get enough and I'm constantly working on perfecting them. There are studies of Gemara, thought, etc. that are much more important to me, and I prefer to invest my free time in them. What can I do?

In principle, yes. Not necessarily a translation. You can also use Rashi or another commentary. I think there is room for leniency if it interferes with more meaningful study for you. The question is whether it really comes at the expense of this, meaning that if you don't read Shmuel, you will add more study beyond what you would have studied anyway.
