Two unrelated questions
- I have a neighbor and we often argue about current affairs, etc. Recently, it has become clear that the main point is that he thinks that most Arabs, including Palestinians, want to live alongside us in peace and are not 'supporters of terror' and I think that most of them support the violent struggle in one way or another. A. How do you decide such a debate? on. I would love to hear what you think.
- Is the fact that the Promised Land is a place less prone to natural disasters such as storms, tsunamis, volcanoes, and earthquakes a matter of chance or is it God's providence over His people?

- I think that, as in many debates, you are both right. It is clear that most people want a peaceful and quiet life. The question is at what price and whether they will fight for it. If the Palestinians could achieve a peaceful life while we are at sea, I assume that a large majority of them would be very happy about it (and the opposite seems to be true for us as well). If they have to fight against the extremists to achieve peace – most of them do not do so. And in the end, their main problem is that the public is always led by extremists who do not allow progress towards a reasonable peace. Even if the majority would want it consciously or unconsciously, in practice their public conduct does not reflect this.
- I suppose it's not a matter of providence (because in my opinion there is no such providence). But I'm not at all sure that's true. You have to compare to all the places in the world, not just the ones you hear about earthquakes. I'm almost certain that you'll find quite a few quieter places. But even if that were true, it could be the result of foreknowledge rather than ongoing providence. There's also the possibility that God chose a geologically optimal land for us in advance.
