Women and men

שו"תWomen and men
שאל לפני 9 שנים

peace,
I wanted to ask your opinion about the differences between men and women. Do you think that the difference between them is created only from social constructions and thought patterns of many years (the implication of such a perception is that everything is changeable, meaning that a man can completely become a woman in terms of consciousness, emotion, etc. if we just change our thought patterns)? Or is the difference "built-in", meaning that there is a fundamental difference between the (soul) of a man and the (soul) of a woman, a difference that did not arise over the years but rather a difference that is inherent in us from the moment we accept our gender identity?
I would love to hear your opinion and, if possible, provide sources (not necessarily from Judaism).
Thank you in advance.

I think that before we get into the sources, we need to define the question. In my opinion, it is difficult to impossible to define it. What does a fundamental difference mean? Is every woman different from every man? Is the difference more than between man and man or woman and woman? Or is it an average difference? But then there is no point in talking about fundamentality. After all, the question is not defined, and even if someone manages to define it in a reasonable way, it is still not important or interesting. It has no implications whatsoever.
