Is Ben Shapiro an Orthodox Jew?

שו"תIs Ben Shapiro an Orthodox Jew?
שאל לפני 12 חודשים

Hello Rabbi. I heard Ben Shapiro's lectures in Cecil on improving English, and although he describes himself as Orthodox, I hear a lot of opinions that don't sound like that to me.
He tells those who come to him to remain Christians and that he supports them in remaining in churches, for example.
Is this a legitimate statement? From my understanding, Christianity is idolatry and by staying there, they are essentially supporting heresy.
And in general, how should we treat Christians? Is it permissible to connect with them and speak to their hearts in their language? To laugh with them about the holidays they celebrated, such as Christmas and Easter… From this perspective, it seems that you don't object to the fact that he is a complete idolater.
Thank you and happy holidays

I have no idea who he is. I don't know him. But why does it matter? If you mean to ask about the attitude towards Christianity, ask that. Non-Catholic Christians are not worshippers of the Holy Scriptures, and I have great doubts about Catholics as well as whether this is their law. In any case, the attitude towards them depends on social circumstances. There is a mandatory human courtesy towards people you come into contact with, and applying the provisions of the halakhic law literally in every situation is folly. I do not know of a poskam who currently orders churches to burn the books of the New Testament, or to throw them into a pit, or even to desecrate the Sabbath to save them. Do not be too righteous, lest you be punished.
