Quantum causality

I heard that the rabbi was asked about causality in quantum theory, which seems to read things randomly.
The rabbi replied that it was only local, that it was a local phenomenon, but in a complete vacuum, it was clear that there was nothing.
Did the rabbi determine that this was true only because of intuition?
