The morality of the ultra-Orthodox view
A. If it were to be shown to you in some way that Haredi Torah study really does protect the people, and if Haredis enlist, there would be more deaths and more failures, would you still argue that Haredi evasion of the draft is morally flawed, or that in such a case the conduct is truly just?
on. If the compulsory conscription law is repealed and the IDF becomes a professional army, do you think it would be immoral for an ultra-Orthodox convention not to volunteer for the army (similar to what actually happens in other countries)?

A. Even if it turns out that everyone going to the beach is the optimal way to protect the people of Israel and the army is only harmful, then I definitely won't require everyone to enlist. What is this stupid question?
on. As long as it is not mandatory or voluntary but a career, such decisions can be made. But whether it is mandatory (as it is today) or voluntary, it is definitely immoral to have a policy against service.
