Q&A: Tractate Nazir
Tractate Nazir
Question
Has the Rabbi ever studied Tractate Nazir in depth? I just noticed that there aren’t all that many medieval authorities (Rishonim) on the tractate, and I was unsure what the right way to study it is. Does the Rabbi have an idea? Or some reference to a book or sourcebook on the tractate? I also didn’t find much.
Answer
You’re reminding me of old times. This was the first tractate I studied on my own (with a study partner).
There is Torat HaNazir, which is a collection of commentaries on the tractate. Beyond that, I saw that a book called Reshit HaNezer was published by my dear student, Rabbi Noam Varshner. I haven’t read it, but I trust him to produce something well done. You can also search on Google and/or in Otzar HaChochma, and you’ll find quite a few more works. Good luck.
I recommend the lectures of Rabbi Meshulam Dovid. Extremely strong.
