Question
Hello Rabbi, I studied for several years in the higher yeshivot of the Religious Zionist world, and I’m familiar with the style of learning in the Religious Zionist yeshivot, which is characterized by a great deal of engagement with the medieval authorities (Rishonim) and relatively little with the later authorities (Acharonim). I also wasn’t properly guided in studying the later authorities, aside from a bit of Rabbi Chaim or Rabbi Shimon here and there, but not beyond that.
How does the Rabbi recommend beginning to study the later authorities? What are the different schools among them, and how is that expressed?
Answer
Are you asking me for a doctoral dissertation on all the later authorities and the differences between them? As for recommendations, I have no general recommendations. Just study them, and that’s all.
