Question

Hello,
In various places where I stay as a guest, I see that people freely put meat and dairy pots on the hot plate, things directly on the hot plate, and so on.
Isn’t there a concern that at some point meat and dairy spilled onto the hot plate, and that the hot plate is therefore not actually kosher?
