Question
My father celebrates only one day of the festival when he goes to Israel, because he has an apartment in Israel on which he pays taxes, and also because several times he has already celebrated all three pilgrimage festivals consecutively in Israel.
When I was single I would of course do as he did, but now what should I do? Can I also observe only one festival day when I come with him and with my wife to Israel for Passover, for example?

It’s hard for me to answer this, because the whole enactment of the two days seems absurd to me. When the Temple is speedily rebuilt, there is no chance they’ll observe two days. Notification of the sanctification of the month will be transmitted in a second over the internet or by telepathy. So it’s ridiculous to observe two days because of “when the Temple is speedily rebuilt.” If it were in my power, I would abolish it. But in principle, I don’t think you are automatically drawn after your father.
