Obligation to the Service of God
Question
Given that you maintain that the good is good by its own nature and not because God chooses it, if you were to reach the conclusion that there is no good solution to the problem of evil and we must assume that God chooses evil, would we still be obligated, in your view, to serve Him? (Or, put differently and more extremely: does ontological gratitude exist even when that very being creates you in order to harm you?)
Answer
This was already asked here. I answered that in my view that obligation does exist, but set against it would be the right (and the duty) to defend oneself. The conclusion depends on how evil the required step is.
