Hello, honorable Rabbi,
I wanted to ask a few questions that bother me מאוד regarding the Flood.
1. According to all researchers, human civilization (Mesopotamia, etc.) began more than 5,000 years ago. How does that fit with the date of the Flood, which was a little over 4,000 years ago and was supposed to wipe out humanity, while researchers do not find signs of a flood from that period?
2. According to what is described in the Torah, the waters of the Flood reached the height of the highest mountains, which is at least several kilometers high, and the Torah describes the waters drying up on their own (it does not describe any supernatural miracle that happened), which does not fit with reality.
