Q&A: The Laws of Nature as the Fingerprint of the Holy One, Blessed Be He
The Laws of Nature as the Fingerprint of the Holy One, Blessed Be He
Question
Hi Michi. I thought it would be worthwhile to share with you an article I read this morning. It occurred to me that maybe there is a connection between the phenomenon described and quantum mechanics? In any case, it certainly can’t hurt to say, "How great are Your works, O Lord."
Answer
The question is whether you see God's works only in places that science does not understand. I see His works mainly in places where there is a scientific explanation. There we are dealing with a result of the laws of nature and not a mistake or something random, and that is certainly the work of His hands. It seems to me that that is even more the place to say, "How great are Your works."

Questioner:
Your point is definitely relevant, but I remind you that the insight I arrived at on this matter regarding the work of God's hands is that God established the laws of nature, but He does not intervene in day-to-day life except according to His own discretion!

Rabbi:
I completely agree, and therefore when I see things conducted according to the laws, I see His handiwork more than I do in something that does not follow the laws.
