Q&A: Active Nature
Active Nature
Question
Can one say that part of nature is providence? For example, if a person or the Jewish people meet certain criteria, certain things will happen to them. It doesn’t have to be that everything stems from reward and punishment, but perhaps things that, in the eyes of science, are not natural are nevertheless part of the laws of nature. I look at the history of the Jewish people, and there are things for which it’s hard to say they happened on their own through the laws of nature. I’d be glad to hear your opinion on the matter.
Answer
You can say that. Look—you just did. What do you want from me? I’ve written here many times about my view on divine involvement in the world, and you can search for it.
