Q&A: Sephardi / Tunisian Analysis
Sephardi / Tunisian Analysis
Question
Hello Honorable Rabbi,
Following the recent discussions about lomdus, have you had a chance to become familiar with the Sephardi method of analysis (and its sister, the Tunisian method of analysis)? If so, what do you think of them? Are they good ways to arrive at in-depth learning?
Attached is a link to a series of lessons in Tunisian analysis:

Answer
I’m not familiar with it. I started the first lesson, and the first ten minutes were a simple explanation of the plain meaning of the Talmudic text (though with nice didactics between the two speakers, who sharpen the points of the plain reading in the language of the Talmudic passage). Maybe later on there is something more analytical, but I don’t have time to listen to everything.
