What is your opinion of Kabbalah:
1. The distinction within divinity between the Infinite and the revealed, contracted divinity— is that possible? Can divinity be divided, and does that contradict fundamental biblical verses?
2. Pantheism—do you think the kabbalistic conception is pantheistic?
3. Do you think sources can be found that point to similar conceptions in the Sages and in the Bible?
4. Do you believe in this theology, or in parts of it?
Answer
- There is no contradiction at all. What you called the contracted divinity is not divinity, but rather its revelation.
- Why think that? Beyond that, pantheism is atheism in other words.
