Question
Hello, honorable Rabbi
- I look at reality and see that there are people for every role in the world. My feeling is that they did not choose this profession.
There is some kind of hidden hand or spiritual source that exists in the cosmos and brought them down into the world so that the world can exist. For me, this is the proof of the existence of God. Likewise, the Holy One, blessed be He, brings into the world people with a strong religious tendency {rabbis} in order to create a balance between matter and spirit so that the world can exist. I wanted to know whether this idea exists in Judaism and in philosophy, and in general what the Rabbi thinks about this thought.
Answer
That could also just be the hand of chance. If there are several types of personality and talents, why shouldn’t there be a distribution among people across those personality types and talents? If you find that there are personality types and talents missing from the map, and those are precisely the talents that aren’t needed, then perhaps there would be room to discuss it. And even then, of course, they would tell you that it is an evolutionary process.
