Regarding your comment about punctilious German exactness saving people from corona, Nachmanides already explained in the name of the grammarians (and so too in Radak) on the verse in Jacob’s blessing: “until Shiloh comes, and to him shall be the obedience of the peoples,” that the root means “obedience and acceptance of authority.” And there is no clearer sign of the end than this 🙂
