Q&A: Science and Its Implications
Science and Its Implications
Question
Hello.
Science has all kinds of well-known predictions, such as: that the Earth will be swallowed by the sun in billions of years, the cold end of the universe, asteroids and all kinds of objects that could hit us at any given time—if you check NASA’s website. While these are considered facts, life after death is not considered a fact, and according to you there is no providence. Isn’t it depressing that this is the end of existence?
Answer
First, my own personal death is quite enough to raise those same questions for me. Second, predictions that deal with many billions of years from now don’t really inspire much confidence in me. And third, even if the universe is wiped out, souls could still remain.
