Question

Can the Rabbi recommend a book or books that would clarify for me how probable evolution is, from among the sea of books that discuss the subject? [And the degree of probability of other hypotheses besides Darwin’s.] Or are there no shortcuts?
Likewise, regarding archaeology, I feel like a chicken among human beings, and I have no idea how much reliability there is to pottery shards and the like. If the Rabbi could refer me to a book on archaeology suitable for someone who isn’t knowledgeable in the field.
