Knowledge and Free Choice
Question
I thought of a solution to the question of divine foreknowledge and free choice, and I’d be happy if the Rabbi could say whether it makes sense.
Basically, the Holy One, blessed be He, exists across all of time. That means He was, is, and will be at the same moment. So there is no future knowledge of information that does not yet exist.
Answer
This "solution" has come up here again and again. It has no basis, since in any case the claim "God now knows X that will happen tomorrow" is a true claim, and so the question of freedom of choice still remains. There is a series of columns here on knowledge and free choice (299 and onward); look at them.
