You wrote on your site (in the thread about Professor Aumann winning the Nobel Prize in Economics) regarding the well-known remarks of the Maharil Diskin about three people holding a cloak, that in this case it would be possible to reach other rulings that would still fit the halakhic rules.

Answer
It’s hard to spell it out here. The data of the problem don’t determine it fully; that is, they allow several generalizations that would converge to the same solution in the case of two people holding it.
In the meantime, a book has come out in the Talmudic Logic series in which we deal with these topics and discuss several different approaches. If it interests you, get it there:

What does it mean that the book is
partly in English and partly in Hebrew,
There isn’t a separate Hebrew edition of the book? If not, can you say what the breakdown is between Hebrew and English? Is it an English book in which only the Talmudic sources are in Hebrew?

The entire book is in Hebrew. At the end there are articles (some of which, if I remember correctly, are in English). That is how it is in all the books in the series, except for Book 6 (which isn’t ours) and Book 10 (which collects the English articles from all the books up to that point).
How can one see a sample of the book mentioned (Talmudic Logic 13)?
You can’t (except at my house, in my copy).
Why can’t I find the book in question (13) on Amazon? Was it removed from the site?

And maybe one of the site’s readers knows how the book can still be purchased anyway (even used)?
Is it permissible to order a book from Amazon (for example) when I know it will arrive on the Sabbath? (Let’s assume there’s a non-Jewish woman in the house who can receive the package, so that no issue of carrying out is involved upon receipt.)
