Question

Hello Rabbi!
Is the claim that the stories of the patriarchs are only an educational legend from God and not a factual description a reasonable one?
 
I tend to say no.
Since there are too many descriptions there of families and places, in the portion of Genesis, and also in the portion of Vayishlach about Esau’s family and more… If it’s only a parable, why is that relevant?!
Besides, God tells Moses and the children of Israel that He chose them because He swore to their forefathers. That is, the reference is to forefathers who actually existed.
Am I right?!
