Sukkah

Question

Hello Rabbi,
I’m staying in a unit without a balcony, and building a sukkah in the building’s parking area is quite unpleasant.
So I go to my parents for Sukkot, where there is room for me in the sukkah but not for my wife.
Am I obligated to sleep in the sukkah? Or can I go sleep with my wife at home?

Thank you very much

Answer

The halakhic decisors are divided on this. If this causes you great distress, to the point that if it happened at home you would leave your house to sleep somewhere else, then you may rely on the more lenient opinions. During the time when marital relations are expected, it is certainly possible to be lenient.
