I recently started reading your book “It Shall Send Forth Its Roots” and am enjoying it very much.
What is your personal opinion on this matter? Do you hold like Maimonides, that the source is from the Torah via “do not turn aside,” or that the source is different, as you presented in Nachmanides’ view?

My personal view is like both Maimonides and Nachmanides. I explained there that they probably both agree with one another. Nachmanides’ objections stem from the fact that he did not understand that Nachmanides, too, held like him.
