I found a PDF file of your book "God Plays with Dice" on the ZLibrary site
Question
Hello Rabbi Michi, I tried and couldn’t find any place to send you a private message, so I’m forced to contact you here.
As the title says, I found a PDF file of your book “God Plays with Dice” on the ZLibrary site.
This is a pirate site for books and articles—most of them in English, but it also has a limited selection of books in Hebrew—and it holds a copy of your book, God Plays with Dice.
I would send you a link, but of course I wouldn’t expect you to open unfamiliar links. Type zlibrary into Google, enter the site whose address includes:
singlelogin
Register and log in to the site
Note that the domain name includes the word africa—all the other domains, and especially the “Israeli” one, are fakes that will only ask you to donate to the site but won’t give you access to download the files.
Search for the word “God” and you’ll find your book in the short list that comes up. As I understand it, as the copyright holder you have the option of asking them to block access to it.
As I understand it, they do honor such requests, and I’ve even come across (theoretically) books I wanted to download and couldn’t because the copyright holder requested that. Note that the copy will always be available for download via access through the TOR network, but the book will be unavailable for download to most users on the site—those browsing through the regular internet.
I don’t understand why, but I feel the need to explain why I wrote this to you, even though clearly (and theoretically, of course) I do not respect copyright and do browse sites of this kind.
For a long time now my views have consistently leaned in a communist direction—and I oppose copyright for several reasons (I won’t go into them—you’re welcome to imagine). Even though your book enriches the rich, since it was published by a large publishing house (Yedioth Ahronoth), and the price tag on it prevents many people from reading it and thus prevents the many—especially those who can’t afford to buy knowledge—from accessing it, I like reading what you write and I don’t want phenomena like this to discourage you and keep you from writing additional works.
Respectfully,
“Lafar Dalaf”
Answer
Thank you. By the way, the reason you gave for contacting me is itself the reason of those who support copyright (and it’s also the law, and the law applies to communists too, even though they think it doesn’t).
Discussion on Answer
Hi, To the point,
Some of them, of course.
Hi “Lafar Dalaf,”
Can you attach a link for other communist readers?
Thanks
Lafar, have you read the other books that are open here on the site for anyone who wants them?
