Russian Literature
Question
Is there anything from Russian literature that you think one should read? For example, War and Peace or Crime and Punishment?
Also, is it worth reading Kafka? Is it beneficial?
Answer
I don’t have any blanket recommendations. Literature can certainly enrich a person. To each their own taste.
Discussion on Answer
The Grapes of Wrath by Steinbeck. Crime and Punishment by Dostoevsky. Anna Karenina by Tolstoy. History by Elsa Morante. And many more.
Sorry for butting in, but I’m really curious to know whether the Rabbi has any recommendation(s) for literary fiction.
And if it’s hard for the Rabbi to recommend, then I’ll phrase it this way: which novel that the Rabbi read did he enjoy very much, or which one left a strong impression on him?
I’d be happy to know, thank you.
