Q&A: Go Forth from Your Land
Go Forth from Your Land
Question
Hello Rabbi,
In these dire times, when every contribution and the basic trust in the institutions of the state are being worn down to nothing.
And apparently, the security situation will remain what it was, and the same people who were responsible for the dramatic disaster
are still stirring the pot and carrying on as before.
(I recommend Shenharv’s article on the Makor Rishon site: https://www.makorrishon.co.il/opinion/686311/)
The scenario for the next disaster (some would say the last, Heaven forbid) is no longer so far-fetched.
So what is the point of continuing to live in a place that is bringing a real existential threat upon itself?
Is there a reason to live in a place where the incompetent people entrusted with its security are abandoning its residents to death?
I would be glad to hear your response.
Answer
I don’t think we are facing an existential danger. Certainly not on the security level. Our dangers are on the social-economic level.

Much more.
Following up on the Rabbi’s answer about being afraid of the situation with the Bibi-ists and the Haredim: if things keep going like this, would you consider leaving the country?
I’m already too old, and in my lifetime we probably won’t reach a critical point, in my estimation. But I can understand someone who would leave. That obviously depends on how things develop. It’s hard to predict the future. The danger exists, but you can’t say it’s certain.
So basically, the Rabbi is more afraid of the situation with the Haredim and the Bibi-ists than of the security situation?
