Q&A: A Question in the Security Realm
A Question in the Security Realm
Question
Hello,
I have a question in the security realm; I hope that’s okay.
I’ve noticed that terrorist organizations have found a way to cause enormous damage to countries.
And the way is this: to place all the most important things (long-range missiles, intelligence material containing the most important information, etc.) in
humanitarian areas—like underneath hospitals and the like.
That’s what Hamas did, that’s what Hezbollah does (for example, they transport a lot of military material on civilian airplanes with ordinary passengers), and that’s surely what the Houthis
do in Yemen.
In my opinion, if a terrorist organization does such a thing, the buildings should be destroyed with all their occupants. If they do that once, then they’ll understand that it doesn’t work and stop this practice.
And if they don’t stop, then bomb them as many times as necessary. And all the dead—that’s on the shoulders of the terrorist organizations that chose to put their things there.
But as is known, my opinion is not the opinion people follow, and for some reason they go by the view that it is forbidden to kill “uninvolved” people.
Even in America’s statements after the bombings in Yemen, they emphasize that they did many things so that civilians would not be harmed. And they even announced in advance that they would attack, etc.
So I don’t understand—has everyone gone crazy? Meanwhile, in Gaza hundreds of soldiers have died, thousands have been wounded, and there are injuries that it would be better to die than to live with them. Israel has lost over 200,000,000,000 shekels. Hundreds of thousands and maybe millions are suffering severe trauma, and there are countless additional secondary damages that are too many to detail.
And there isn’t even anything being gained in return, like conquering the territory, since Netanyahu keeps saying that no territory will be conquered.
How am I supposed to feel about all this?
Answer
I have no idea how you’re supposed to feel about it. Presumably the way you do feel.
