When You're Under Anesthesia It Apparently Doesn't Hurt

When they perform surgeries and medical procedures on me, they anesthetize me and nothing hurts at all.
Maybe it hurts the soul, maybe it hurts some entity of some kind, I don't know.
But what I do know is that I don't feel pain, and the doctors can do with me as they see fit; I wake up happy—bottom line, I got some benefit out of it and it didn’t hurt.
Maybe it would be worth anesthetizing chickens and cattle before slaughtering them, so that as far as we know it won’t hurt them (assuming they’re more or less like us when it comes to suffering and pain). We’ll eat meat 🍖 and literally be good.

An excellent idea. It just doesn’t solve the problem of abuse on the way to slaughter, throughout the whole process of raising them. Even without anesthesia, the moment of slaughter isn’t the problem. It’s one moment that isn’t necessarily painful.
You can definitely anesthetize them throughout the whole period of raising them.
