Q&A: Sale of Leavened Food
Sale of Leavened Food
Question
Hello Rabbi, and happy holiday! I ran into a small problem in the process of selling my leavened food. I entered an inaccurate address, although there really isn’t an exact address for the place where I am, and the other details I entered — my email address and phone number — are accurate. As a result, I sent the form again, but this time with the correct details. The problem that came up now is that before that I performed the nullification. Does that mean both sales are invalid?
Answer
If there is leavened food that you intended to use after the holiday (that is what gets sold), the nullification has no significance. Therefore, if you sold it in the second sale before the prohibition took effect, there is no problem. You sold something that had not been nullified.
