Q&A: Giants, the Plain Meaning.
Giants, the Plain Meaning.
Question
I would be glad to know how the Rabbi explains the matter of the “giants” who lived in the Land of Israel, since such things seem impossible, especially given that there is no archaeological remnant of this at all.
Thank you, Joshua son of Nun.
Answer
I don’t know that it’s impossible, but it’s not likely. As for remains, that really isn’t proof of anything. Absence of evidence is not evidence. Why would you expect to find specifically the remains of some particular giant in an excavation? But there’s no reason to rule out that this is a metaphorical or aggadic description.

Interesting. Do you have a link? Does the dating fit?

There’s nothing substantial to these claims. These are well-known hoaxes. Some of them are Photoshop stunts that were circulated online back in the internet’s infancy in the 1990s. This information is just one Google search away on sites like Snopes and similar fact-checking websites that examine myths spread on the internet.
Actually, they did find dozens of giant skeletons.
