It seems to me that the demand to supply water and food to the enemy's civilians during wartime is a novelty. Perhaps a welcome novelty, but an unprecedented one. It was always accepted that part of warfare is to impose a siege. Maybe humanity is making progress 🙂
In any case, the way this is currently being done, with the aid distributed by Hamas government personnel, the aid itself ends up starving the civilians, because most of it reaches the fighters.
Perhaps there should have been humanitarian zones set up and run by the IDF, to which non-combatant Gazans could come, and there they would receive a supply of water and food and medical assistance?
