In light of column 635 about the proper attitude toward the residents of Gaza, what does the Rabbi think about the legal consideration that has reportedly been made recently, which views Gazan civilians who took part in the massacre as targets whose harming would be punitive rather than military, and therefore unjustified in war (that is how I understand it)? Isn’t this a secular legal formulation of the consideration of eliminating evil, which you did not see as sufficient grounds for killing?
