Human Life
Question
Hello, honorable Rabbi,
Is it morally permissible to destroy Gaza without taking civilians into account, and where is the line, if there is one at all?
Answer
There is no such line. Of course that is not moral. Why on earth would one destroy a city and massacre civilians?! Terrorists who threaten us may be killed, and if harming them involves harming civilians and there is no way around it, then that too is justified. But not simply to destroy and massacre. I elaborated on this in column 635.
