Q&A: Recommended Yeshivas and the Relationship Between Morality and Religion
Recommended Yeshivas and the Relationship Between Morality and Religion
Question
From the Rabbi’s familiarity with the Haredi yeshiva world—which yeshiva do you think is at the highest level (in learning), including one that would also suit people who come with only a little “prior experience”?
Switching gears sharply: is your approach to the relationship between religion and morality like the one found in the conservative camp?
Do you have a book on the subject that lays out your view? Which book by someone with views opposed to yours would you recommend?
Answer
I have no idea.
My view is explained in many places. There are lecture series here on morality, and there are columns on Jewish law and morality (541 and others).
My attitude toward morality appears in The First Common Sense, in the fourth conversation, at the beginning of Moves Among the Standing, and in the places mentioned above.
I don’t know.
