Immersing Utensils That Were Already Wet
Question
Hello, honorable Rabbi,
When I immersed utensils, I placed them in the utensil basket of the mikveh, but the basket was wet from immersion water left over from previous utensils. Do those waters invalidate the immersion, making it necessary to dry the utensils before immersing them, or since this is mikveh water, does it not create any problem?
Answer
I didn’t understand the question. Are you asking whether the moisture on the utensils you immersed constitutes an interposition?
Discussion on Answer
Absolutely not. And other water does not constitute an interposition either.
I placed cutlery inside a basket used for immersing utensils. The basket was wet, and the water on it came from another person who had immersed the basket with his utensils in the mikveh. As a result, my utensils became wet from the water that was on the basket. After that, I immersed the basket with my utensils,
which were wet from the previous immersion.
Does this situation count as an interposition?
