Which Religious Zionist Yeshiva Does the Rabbi Recommend for You? And How Does the Rabbi Recommend Making the Best Use of Time in Yeshiva?
Question
Hello and blessings, Rabbi. I wanted to know which yeshiva the Rabbi would recommend for me. I’m looking for a Religious Zionist yeshiva where they study the Torah critically and in depth, while relating to different views toward Judaism, both from within the world outside Judaism as well (science, biblical criticism, philosophy, and the like), and that would also build me socially and personally, so that I grow as a person who observes the commandments. In addition, I’d be happy if the Rabbi could give advice on how to make the best use of time in yeshiva in a way that will later influence life.
Answer
I recommend that you not look for a yeshiva that deals with all of that, because you’ll come out bald from every direction. The beginning of engagement with Torah should be in classic lomdus-style learning. You can do the expansions later on your own.
Discussion on Answer
I’m not personally familiar with the yeshivot up close. Gush is known as a good yeshiva.
Kiryat Malakhi, Rabbi Amit’s yeshiva; people leave there with a clear outlook in the path of our master the Hazon Ish.
Just one small correction: people don’t leave there.
What about Gush?
