Practically speaking, in terms of Jewish law—when it comes to sports betting (for example, betting that a team will win), is there a problem of theft? And does it make a difference if it is done through a betting agency that takes people’s money and in the end distributes it to the winners? (Perhaps there is room to say that they are the ones doing the stealing, and I am only benefiting from the theft.) Does it make a difference that most of them are non-Jews?
