I’m listening now to lectures about mysticism,
and I don’t understand why you don’t say outright that the Zohar is mysticism.
There is no way to prove the basis of the Zohar, the Ari, and so on…
And in addition, the tradition is very shaky as a basis for accepting that the foundation is true—from that same rabbi, again, we build rationality on it, as you said. That is a complete falsehood. It is as clear as snow that the Zohar is an invention resulting from the exile and the paganism absorbed with great force from various surrounding religions. I’d be happy for an answer as to why you don’t say outright: the Zohar is mysticism, emotional psychology in many cases, meant to make the reader internalize more and more of the material being studied, turning him into a being lacking rationality—a pagan, religious, sectarian creature controlled by the writer’s imaginary emotions, because that is what the writer wanted.
