Hostage Deal – A New ‘Philosophical’ Article
Question
An this article came out today. You write interesting things on this topic. Maybe you could address it.
Answer
Tendentious nonsense that isn’t even worth discussing. I’ll just comment on the framework of the trolley problem and the difference between an officeholder and an ordinary citizen. This foolish argument keeps coming up again and again: the government abandoned them, and therefore it is obligated to sign a deal at any cost. But we all pay the price of the deal, not the government. So their abandonment does not justify collecting the price from us. That’s just one more foolish argument among many others. One can support a deal, but the tendentiousness of the arguments dressed up in philosophical garb is definitely irritating. This article is not philosophy but propaganda.
