Q&A: Regarding Priority: Prayer Quorum or Prayer Time
Regarding Priority: Prayer Quorum or Prayer Time
Question
Hello Rabbi,
Is it preferable to pray with a minyan after the proper prayer time,
or alone before the proper prayer time?
And how important is it to recite Shema before its proper time together with its blessings?
Thank you in advance.
Answer
Is it preferable to eat carcasses or non-kosher meat? And how important is it to fulfill commandments?
Discussion on Answer
So you are not asking about before the prayer time, but rather before the end of the prayer time. The answer is clear. A minyan is a consideration; the prayer time is a full-fledged legal requirement.
Personally, I do not pray with Chabadniks at all. I prefer without a minyan. But that is not a prohibition, just a personal preference.
After the fact, one may still pray and recite Shema even after the time. https://ph.yhb.org.il/02-11-11/?gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwnPS-BhBxEiwAZjMF0mQ7_l91gUeb-nqcSLTnrzpnPwsSunRDmcUUHMGf2KtHqOLc4bbO_hoCF1oQAvD_BwE
The question is about places abroad
where there is only Chabad, and they pray after the proper prayer time,
so there is no option of praying with a minyan before the proper prayer time.
As for reciting Shema and its blessings before the time,
most minyanim usually are not particular about this.
What are they relying on?
Thank you in advance.
