Q&A: The Climate Crisis
The Climate Crisis
Question
A. Do you think it's completely real?
B. Do you think Israel should act like the European Union? For example, stop using plastic bags and do without them? Or significantly reduce disposable products?
C. Are you afraid of it? (Full disclosure: sometimes it keeps me up at night.)
Answer
I’m not well-versed in this issue, and it’s clear that it is also driven by agendas. Still, there is a very broad consensus among scientists, so clearly it is something one should be concerned about. It’s hard to accept that all of this is just baseless nonsense. There is no certainty about anything, not even in science. But pointing to uncertainty is not an argument. Science is still the best tool we have, and claiming that everyone is dishonest does not sound serious to me. The burden of proof is on whoever makes that claim.
So yes, it is certainly appropriate to be careful and to try to minimize the damage as much as possible.
