Q&A: Atheism
Atheism
Question
What does the Rabbi think about the following possibility?
All of humanity, by the power of pure reason alone (according to their view), arrives at the conclusion that there is no God. Would the basic morality that exists among human beings—even morality that stems from utilitarian motives—survive for more than a week? In my opinion, the anchor on which human morality relies—even according to the atheists—is the existence of believing people and the ability to rely on them (speaking very generally), that morality will be a guiding light for their behavior.
Answer
That may be true for the secular people who hang around in the Vizhnitz Hasidic community. I suggest you return to our universe and make some kind of contact with it. Good luck.
