Q&A: What’s Wrong with What Bibi Did
What’s Wrong with What Bibi Did
Question
I remember that you strongly opposed the most recent hostage deal. Your main argument was that you must not save some people if it means giving up strategic goals.
As I understand it, Bibi, with all his sophistication, does not intend to give up clear goals like toppling Hamas, so in any case the ceasefire and the previous release of the hostages was ultimately only a temporary event.
So in retrospect, if the goals are going to be achieved, do you regret having opposed the previous deal?
Answer
There is nothing here to regret or not regret. My view remains unchanged: if bringing back the hostages will prevent achieving the goals of the war, then I am against it. If it is possible, then I am in favor. Now go and see whether that is possible or not.
