Q&A: Sacrificing the Hostages
Sacrificing the Hostages
Question
I heard an argument on the radio between a right-wing person and a left-wing person. The left-wing person asked the right-wing person why people on the right are unwilling to say that they are giving up on the hostages in order to defeat Hamas. The right-wing person answered him: "Are you willing to say that in every war you are prepared to give up soldiers?" The left-wing person refused to agree to that statement, and I’m asking whether the logic of both sides is sound, or whether there is some middle definition.
Answer
A foolish question. The right-winger also is not willing to give up on the hostages; rather, he is unwilling to bring them back at any price. But the left-winger also is not willing to bring them back at any price. Moreover, even if he were willing to give up on the hostages, why would he need to say that and shake up and crush their families? In short, just more common left-wing demagoguery.
Discussion on Answer
I don’t define myself.
Michi,
do you define yourself as right-wing?
