Hello Rabbi,
I wanted to ask. I came across a fairly old picture in the home of a deceased woman in which you see a slightly muscular man holding a rose with long fingers and a large halo around him, perhaps doing some kind of magic, and at the bottom of the picture is "embedded" the name of the Lord.
The house belonged to a religious woman, but this picture seems very unusual to me and I have never seen anything Jewish like it. The interpretation that it is Christian is quite logical given that it can be interpreted that the painter was trying to link the name of the Lord to Jesus and also his fingers were reminiscent of images seen in Bukidnon of Jesus.
So I wanted to ask what the ruling is regarding the picture: should it be placed in the Genizah or torn into pieces and thrown in the trash/burned (including the name of the person).

I don't think there is a halakhic prohibition against keeping such an image. It is not an accessory used for worship. But I wouldn't keep it. In case of doubt, I would cut out the name of God and place it in the Genizah.
